Meditative dance is a meditation in movement, it starts with setting an intention, then a recognition of the whole body with our breath and self massage.

It is an invitation to move the body very slow with a guided meditation and music. The meditation is a journey to connect with yourself and with the present moment, with your energy. The dance take us from movement to calmness, to silence, to enter in a posture of relaxation to start a deeper meditation state.

Dance Training

I grew up in Venezuela, where latin dance such as merengue, salsa and lambada was part of the culture, of each family gathering, I grew up in an environment where dancing was part of our life. During my childhood I did ballet and traditional Venezuelan dance and since then I found a great passion. I spent all my early years until teenager taking dance as a hobby and a way to connect with myself, with my joy and it was a way to feel happy.

In the time I lived in Japan, I learned some oriental dance from Japan and Indonesia. At that time, I started to perform in teathers, in front of many people dancing latin music and traditional Venezuelan dance. I found the joy of sharing and expressing myself like that, and I created a latin music club in the Japanese University I was studying as part of the intercultural exchange and I was dance teacher.

After I moved to Barcelona, I studied 6 years Bourlesque in the Burlesque School of Barcelona , during that time I explore other areas of my personality and the dance, it helped me to accept my body after I became mother and the freedom I felt when I had to take off the corset in the stage. It was an act of freedom and showing myself authentic as I was. I understood the power of dancing to express the soul is the one that create emotions in the public, more than the bodies, the courage needed to be able to express your essence like that in front of people required a real opening of myself.

After I discover Estatic Dance, an organic dance, free movement, no choreography, no mind and pure freedom in movement, no judgement about what means to dance, allowing just the connection with the music and let yourself guided by your own body. Since then this type of dance is part of my life. I did Qi Gong aswell and it connected me with the sutil Japanese dance I learned, a way to connect with meditation and the way of moving energy in the body.
